Chief Minister M.K. Stalin is starting the birthday of former Chief Minister Karunanidhi in Chennai.
The Tamil Nadu government has extended the curfew for another week to prevent the spread of corona disease. Thus, Chief Minister MK Stalin had said, “I have directed the Department of Cooperatives and Consumer Protection to provide a package of 13 groceries to all rice family cardholders through ration shops from June, in order to reduce the inconvenience to the public.”
Accordingly, for the 2.11 crore ration card holders, 13 items including wheat flour, salt, semolina, sugar, lentils, tamarind, dal, diet powder, mustard, cumin, turmeric, chilli powder, bath soap, laundry detergent and cloth are to be provided in this package.

All of these items are currently being brought to the Consumer Goods Gudon and are ready. It has been reported that all the items will be put in each bag and sent to the respective ration shops according to the number.

On the birthday of the late former Chief Minister Karunanidhi, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, M.K. Stalin starts tomorrow. Also, the second installment of the corona relief, a scheme to provide Rs 2,000, is set to start tomorrow.

In this case, it is to be distributed to the cardholders through ration shops from the 5th. It is to be noted that tokens containing the date and time for the users to arrive have been issued at the cardholders’ houses since yesterday.

In this context, a video of MK Stalin speaking yesterday was released. It said, “The only way to stop the spread of corona is to break the chain of transmission from one person to another. A complete curfew has been imposed for the last 24 to seven days. A full curfew has been imposed for another seven days.

The spread of corona in major cities including Chennai has been gradually declining since the 24th day of the full curfew. The impact in Chennai has reached 7 thousand, now it has reduced to 2 thousand. It will be completely gone in a few more days. In the western region, including Coimbatore, it has increased over the past week. That too has been declining for the past two days.

Therefore, everyone should realize that there is no other way but complete curfew to control the corona completely. The government has made various arrangements to realize the impact of the entire curfew on the public. We have made arrangements to bring vegetables and groceries to the people. Ration shops are open. A collection of 13 items required by the public is to be given. The public should take full advantage of this.

It is true that the livelihoods of certain sections of the public are affected due to the complete curfew. That is why we have given Rs. 2000 as the first phase of the Corona Relief Fund. We are going to pay the next 2000 rupees soon. Economist Abhijit Banerjee has also praised this.
However, the curfew could not be extended. It must end soon. That too is in your hands, people. Full compliance with the regulations will put an end to the spread of corona. ”
